What will you do with this PRICELESS TREASURE???

TIME!! TIME!! TIME!!
Well! We often hear a proverb "Time and Tide waits for No Man" Keeping this proverb in mind, let us ask ourselves do we really work hard? Managing has become of utmost importance in today's fast paced world. Even we college students have to do many things to accomplish within the available time. We are encouraged to participate in co- curricular activities but prime importance is given to studies.

We often give the excuse"I didn't have time to complete my assignment. So I left it" Do we really not have time?Or else we didn't know what to give priority to.We waste time watching tv, playing games and even by networking. Unfortunately, the excuse for "no time" begins in childhood and it lasts till the adult life. Time managed well brings to light our strength as well as our weakness which can bring out the best in our life.
We must set a goal and should walk on the road which will take us towards it. Goals must be set keeping in mind our strong points as well as our weak points. When we set a goal we must seriously concentrate on it. It should not to be like today we set a goal in our mind and instead of working on it the same moment we postpone the work by tomorrow. And each day will pass by doing the same thing, And one day will come when we will say that we have achieved nothing in our lifetime. Money can be regained but the passed time cannot be regained. At the end managing time is all with us. A well-planned day gives us plenty of time at our disposal. What is important is to draw a time-table keeping in mind the things you have to do for the day. It should have time to study, play and do the other necessary work.

Last but not the least each one of us should keep in mind that "Time is Precious"!! In order to achieve our goal and to be called an achiever. :)
                           TIME is a PRICELESS TREASURE!!!

Nurse's 'rare' murder..... Cold-blooded, reckless killer likely knew rural area well: police

For three long days, top criminal profilers and investigators from across North America came together in a Toronto hotel to pore over the details of the summertime murder of Orangeville, Ont., nurse Sonia Varaschin.
The three-day "investigative summit" last week was unprecedented but warranted by the "very rare" nature of the crime, Ontario Provincial Police Det.-Insp. Mark Pritchard said at a news conference Thursday.
The killer attacked Varaschin, 42, in her home in Orangeville, about 80 kilometres northwest of Toronto, either late on Aug. 29 or early on Aug 30, when her blood-smeared white Toyota Corolla was found, doors open, in an alleyway in downtown Orangeville.

"Anybody who enters somebody's house where you should be safe and kills you, in my view is cold-blooded," Pritchard said.
He said the killer not only entered Varaschin's Spring Street home, he moved her body into her vehicle, despite "the close confines of the townhouse complex." After dumping the body, he then recklessly drove back near the scene of the murder and into town with blood that would have been "clearly visible on the outside of the car."
A week later, on Sept. 5, somebody walking a dog discovered Varaschin's remains next to a remote road in Caledon, about 12 kilometres from her home.
About 25 experts met at a hotel near Toronto's Pearson International Airport last week to dissect the case "moment by moment, event by event," including visits to the three crime sites, to try to piece together a profile of the man who killed Varaschin.
In attendance were criminal profilers from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation's Virginia-based behavioural analysis unit, Ontario Provincial Police and the RCMP, plus senior homicide investigators from several forces, including York Region, Toronto and Ottawa.
Also among those at the summit were several members of the OPP's behavioural sciences unit, who were involved in the case of Russell Williams, the former military commander who killed two women, attacked two others and broke into dozens of Tweed-area and Ottawa homes.

Killer profile released

Investigators say this is the type of boot Sonia Varaschin's murderer wore. About six different models sold at Mark's Work Warehouse use this sole.
Police have released few details about how Varaschin died and even refuse to reveal the weapon used.
And at the news conference, nearly four months after her death, little fresh evidence was presented. Pritchard defended the investigation.
"It's not a TV show," he said. "These things take a long time."
Investigators did release a general profile of Varaschin's, killer, hoping it might help them "zero in" on the killer by sparking further tips. In the days after Varaschin's death or the discovery of her body on Sept. 5, police say the killer may have:
  • Increased alcohol or drug use.
  • Seemed irritable, agitated or anxious.
  • Moved from the area.
  • Limited social interactions to avoid detection.
  • Had unexplained absences from work, school or missed appointments.
  • Displayed other unusual behavior.
The man, police say, is likely very familiar with the Orangeville area and the gravel Beech Grove Sideroad, near Mountainview Road, in Caledon, where Varaschin's body was dumped. He may know it because of "recreation, occupation or illegal activities."

Other attack unrelated

Glenn Nash, 60, of Caledon, who lives near the site where Varaschin's body was found, says the people who frequent the rural area are mostly locals, either walking or hiking in the wooded conservation spot.
Mark Pritchard describes the killer as "reckless" and "cold blooded."
"It would have to be someone who knows the roads, knows the area," Nash said. "Somebody who's comfortable with the area. And they know this is a very, very quiet road. You can be here for hours and not see any vehicle."
Nash pointed out an area where flowers used to mark the site, now covered in thick snow, where Varaschin's body was found. The retired volunteer firefighter and snowplow operator says that in summer, the area is swampy and covered in tall bulrushes, making it hard to spot a body.
"I hope they sort something out because a lot of people are uncomfortable," said Nash, noting another recent attack in Orangeville that has residents talking.
Shelley Loder, 44, was found unconscious by a family member after she was attacked inside her house in a nearby town. But police say there are no links between the two cases.
"These two attacks are so dissimilar at this point, we can't make a connection," Pritchard said. "We can't say they are not connected, but we don't see any similarities."

Empty seat at Christmas

Police have received 460 tips to date on the Varaschin case and conducted more than 500 interviews but say they are still looking for a tidbit that might lead them to the killer.
Michele Varaschin, Sonia's mother, urges people to come forward with any information they might have about her daughter's death.
Michele Varaschin, the victim's mother, with her son, Vivian, at her side, quietly delivered a carefully worded statement echoing that sentiment.
"We are asking you to have the courage and strength to come forward," she said.
Next week's holiday celebrations will mark the family's first time without Sonia, a "kindhearted person who loved life," she said.
"This Christmas there will be an empty seating at our table where Sonia used to sit, with her bright smile, thoughts, jokes and just enjoyed Christmas with all her family."

student's council

Student’s council- A must

A college structure would be incomplete if there is no proper management. How would we like if the foundation is strong and there is nobody to take care? That’s the reason along with teachers, principal we also need a student’s council which includes members who will look after the growth of the college in terms of all the college events-cultural, academic and sports. Student’s council also helps to build a bridge between the students and teachers.
St.Xavier’s college awarded Best College of Goa had election on student’s council and after a tough competition found their General Secretary (G.S), Joint Secretary, Cultural Secretary, Sports secretary and Class Representatives. The members have come together to form a fantastic unit to work for the benefit of the college.
Jonathan Rodrigues the general secretary wants to be a role model to all the students and represent the students not the management, he wants to keep up to the St.Xaviers tradition. he also plans to propose an inter collegiate event of the college as well as boosting the interclass events like plus points and acknowledging the students talents. he is also very keen in starting the college bus transport again so that the difficulty of travelling becomes simpler.
Aditi Sequeira the joint secretary will help in coordinating with the general secretary as well as the cultural secretary and help in advancing and improvising such that the college gets further polished. She also believes in supporting the general secretary and cultural secretary in various events in a proper disciplinary manner to avoid any chaos.
Omkar Borkar the cultural secretary is responsible for all the cultural events held in college. He has plans of having a series inter-collegiate events in every stream and
taking them to a different level.
There are 39 class representatives and presidents of different clubs who will also be working in partnership with the college management and staff for the benefit of the students and college. The college management wants the members to get involved in the affairs of the college and work hard for the wide range of college activities including events, community projects and college reforms workshops.
Being a member of student’s council a student learns many skills that are extension of their formal education, invasion of traits, building of character as an individual, also helps in boosting the formation of personality.

The phase called - SPEECH'less'NESS!!!

When a new life enters this world...
Everybody knows what to say!
But when the same life departs...
There's only silence left behind!

When you acquire a new attire...
You flatter yourself repeatedly!
But when the same garment wears out...
Its merely a useless old rag!

When you learn a new skill...
You get all geared up to experiment!
But when you realize that its becoming an old trick...
You immediately disown it!

When you make a new pal...
In the early stages, everything glitters!
But as time passes by...
The same excitement fades away!

People change, Circumstances change, Relationships change!

There may be moments when you feel like giving up, and yet...
You are compelled to move on...
There will also be moments when you are extremely confused, unable to decide, and yet...
You will end up exactly in the place you actually wanted to...

Cherish those moments that render you speechless...
'Coz those are the moments that made you actually ponder !!!
