'CALAMUS - Where We Speak For Ourselves'

 

The Department of Journalism, of St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa

will be hosting a one day inter-collegiate event for the first time

“CALAMUS - 2012 – Where We Speak For Ourselves” 

on the 13th of February, 2012 at the College Seminar Hall. 

This event is a platform for students to explore their innovative and expressive minds; and to showcase their skills and talents.

Please note the following details:  
1.    Registration  fee       : Participating college : Rs. 300 (with ID cards)               
2.    Venue                        : St. Xavier’s Seminar Hall.
3.    Date and time           : 13th February 2012, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.     
           
Further details of “CALAMUS 2012” are mentioned in the rulebook.

TIME!! TIME!! TIME!!

 Well! We often hear a proverb "Time and Tide waits for No Man" Keeping this proverb in mind, let us ask ourselves do we really work hard? Managing has become of utmost importance in today's fast paced world. Even we college students have to do many things to accomplish within the available time. We are encouraged to participate in co- curricular activities but prime importance is given to studies.

We often give the excuse"I didn't have time to complete my assignment. So I left it" Do we really not have time?Or else we didn't know what to give priority to.We waste time watching tv, playing games and even by networking. Unfortunately,the excuse for "no time" begins in childhood and it lasts till the adult life. Time managed well brings to light our strength as well as our weakness which can bring out the best in our life.

We must set a goal and should walk on the road which will take us towards it. Goals must be set keeping in mind our strong points as well as our weak points. When we set a goal we must seriously concentrate on it. It should not to be like today we set a goal in our mind and instead of working on it the same moment we postpone the work by tomorrow.And each day will pass by doing the same thing, And one day will come when we will say that we have achieved nothing in our lifetime. Money can be regained but the passed time cannot be regained. At the end managing time is all with us. A well-planned day gives us plenty of time at our disposal. What is important is to draw a time-table keeping in mind the things you have to do for the day. It should have time to study, play and do the other necessary work.

Last but not the least each one of us should keep in mind that "Time is Precious"!! In order to achieve our goal and to be called an achiever. :)

                           TIME is a PRICELESS TREASURE!!!
